In memoriam of people killed by Covid-19
The Year of Our Lord 2020
The name was simply Jane Doe, 1970-2020,
some unidentified someone who must have
known someone, who once might have been
very active, who might have had some family.
But only a few words had survived the weather.
It seemed a flat, bland sort of sketch, lacking
emotion, about a person who had a past.
We have no real idea who this courageous
person was. What did she do? Did she take
care of others? Maybe a nurse and a mother.
Did she giggle when tickled? What did
her smile look like? What made her eyes
light up? What movies captured her heart?
Did she hang out with friends? Dance and Sing?
Was she playful? Flirtatious? Coy? Or Shy?
So, why did she have to die
in the Year of our Lord 2020?
