El sendero de Dante
The action takes place in Venice, at the present time. An agnostic psychiatrist, Dr. Schwarz, obsessed by Dante Alighieri's journey in the Divine Comedy, decides to follow Dante's path to prove the existence of life after death, and so subjects himself to self-hypnosis.
The story is narrated in first person by Alicia Malus, a friend, former lover and former pupil of Dr. Schwarz. She tells us the chronicle of those days and, in the meantime, she finds out her own story she believes to have escaped from and faces a truth she didn't know. In this psychological thriller novel, the narration mixes up current events with memories of a girl born in the middle of the Ocean, raised by her mother and grandmother, a Countess who had fallen from grace.
